Waiting no more: Foo Fighters land 10th number-one ‘Billboard’ rock single with “Waiting on a War”

ABCFoo Fighters have landed their 10th #1 single on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.

Dave Grohl and company earned the milestone thanks to their current single, “Waiting on a War.” Fittingly, “Waiting on a War” appears on the 10th Foo Fighters album, Medicine at Midnight.

The Foos are now locked in a five-way tie for the fifth-most #1 Mainstream Rock Airplay hits in the chart’s 40-year-history — Tom Petty, Metallica, Disturbed and Five Finger Death Punch each have 10, as well. Shinedown has the most, with 16.

Medicine at Midnight was released in February. The album’s lead single, “Shame Shame,” also hit number one on Mainstream Rock Airplay.
