Rage Against The Machine‘s Tom Morello has gifted a custom-made guitar to 10-year-old rockstar Nandi Bushell, whose rendition of the song “Guerilla Radio” from the band’s 1999 album, The Battle of Los Angeles recently went viral.
“Hey Nandi, I’d like you to have this guitar as a gift from me to you because you rock so great, and to see someone rocking so great who is so young, it really gives me hope for the future,” Morello expressed his appreciation for the young British artist in a separate video that was later uploaded to Nandi’s YouTube channel, in which she also filmed her reaction to the kind gesture.
“I didn’t start playing guitar until I was 17 years old, so you are way, super-far ahead of me, and I look forward to hearing a lot more of your music in the future. You’ve got a lot of soul, and here’s a little Soul Power to go with it. Keep it up!” he adds.
In the original video, the little girl is seen playing not only the guitar but also bass, as well as drums. The video has now gained more than half a million views on YouTube alone.
Morello has gifted the budding musician his signature, Fender Soul Power Stratocaster, which Nandi was overjoyed to receive, as seen in the reaction video.
The cover has now gained more than half a million views on YouTube alone. This is not the first time that Bushell has gone viral, as she even appeared on The Ellen Show in December of 2019, and performed the drums.
