Road Construction

I’m sure many of you in the Northwoods have noticed the repaving of Highway 47 from Rhinelander to the North. I’m amazed at how far they have gotten in just a few weeks. LOTS of trucks and lots of machinery and of course lots of delays. They are already up to Newbold in the northbound lane. Nice and smooth and brand new. My point to all this is the number of complaints I hear about the delays. Inconvenient? Of course. I travel that road daily and have adjusted my commute now to give an extra 15 minutes or so. I expect the delay. For me, to adjust my schedule for a month or so is so well worth it for me. I know when it’s all done the entire ride will be smooth and finally pot hole free! The new road far outweighs the inconvenience. I was in the front of the line last week one day and the flag gal actually said to me “I’m so sorry for the delays”. I just smiled and told her “no problem…it will be worth it”. So adjust your schedules, smile a little and remember that in a few weeks the ride on highway 47 will be smoother than it’s been in years. Oh ya, SLOW DOWN too! (please)
