Well, it certainly was the 4th of July and this summer is RACING by for sure! Although I don’t think too many people will complain about getting rid of it quicker! Another 4th has come and gone but in my lifetime this one has to be the oddest in my years. No parades. Many communities tried their best to at least have a little something going on but in a very cautious environment. It will certainly be a 4th that I’ll remember that I will try to forget. No chicken BBQ celebrations, no brat feeds, people social distancing (the best they could) and just a few communities having the traditional fireworks displays. Yes, this years 4th was somewhat sad but somehow I think we all got thru it ok. I know there were more celebrations at homes with music, food and more among family members. I have yet (in a couple days since) talked to anybody that said “WOW, what a great 4th of July that was”. I DID hear a few comments of “the best thing about this years fourth was the 4th of JuLIVE weekend on WRLO!” I’m sure those comments will be very few and far between. Let’s pray, cross our finger and do the best we can to change things so next years celebrations will kick this year in the ass and be the BEST we truly ever had!!! I’m looking forward to hopefully more positivity by then. Let me be the first to say “Happy 4th of July 2021”.
