WOW! It was somewhat expected on Friday July 19 but not quite as bad as it got. WRLO was knocked off the air at about 8pm. The storm is one of the worst the Public Service workers have seen in 20 years. As of Monday July 22 many people in the Elcho/Summit Lake areas are still without power including the WRLO tower site. We are on low power on a generator. The people working on things are heroes to many. They working countless hours and come from all over the state to work at restoring power. The issue with this storm is it knocked out so many “networks” as they put it that it takes time to restore it all. Thank goodness we were all spared any injuries or worse! Confirmed tornadoes in the areas and very high winds caused so much damage in such a short time. Obviously, we will get thru it and be up at full power soon. For now, let’s just be thankful as it could have been worse. Those not affected…thank you for your patience. I think I would have rather seen a big snow storm than what we got. Wait, did I just say that????
