Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

So the other day I’m on the air and mentioned to all the listeners to not forget getting the turkey for thanksgiving.  Then the wheels started turning.  I inquired whether everybody does in fact find it necessary to follow the tradition and cook a turkey?  Oh sure, people will cook it in the oven, smoke them in the smoker, boil the S**t out of them in a deep fryer but the common denominator?  It’s still turkey.  Does anybody sway from the norm and maybe have a main course other than the sacred bird?  I have heard of people having a duck of course but STILL it’s some kind of bird. Oh wait, there’s the ever inventive Turducken but c’mon!!!  And what’s with the stuffing?  No wonder we all need to where sweat pants at the Thanksgiving Day table!  I know I know…the tradition of the Pilgrims, etc.  But would it be way out of the norm to have prime rib?  Meat loaf? Swedish Meatballs?  What do you do?  Anything other than ……BIRD?????  Either way I wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving.  Give thanks for something or a lot of things but give thanks.  I give thanks to many things…one of those is you folks!  Thank you so much for making my job all these years a lot of fun.  Thank you for being so kind.  All the best.
