Kansas Returns To Wisconsin!

Kansas Returns To Wisconsin!

Friday October 11th…one of my favorite bands will light up the stage at The Grand Theatre in Wausau.  Being a prog rock fan I’ve loved this band from the start.  From “Lonely Wind” to “Dust In The Wind” I’ve been there since 1974 when I discovered this talented band.  One of the few bands that sounds as good LIVE as they do on record (Mp3-CD,etc). This near sold out show will certainly be a treat if you’re going.  I’m not a fan of bands that have the lead singer move on.  It just doesn’t seem right to me and most lead singers are irreplaceable.  Journey made the perfect choice in Amel Pineda and I can for sure live with it.  He makes you forget that Steve Perry isn’t the front man anymore.  Same goes for Kansas.  Steve Walsh retired and they replaced him with Ronnie Platt.  Being a huge Kansas fan I figured I had all the old works of art to enjoy and it was over.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Ronnie is like Amel and does have that Steve Walsh sound and does a great job.  I know it works when I see them live and enjoy every note of the concert.  Kansas LIVES ON!!!  Listen to win tickets September 23 thru September 27 weekday afternoons with yours truly between 2 and 6.  Now…Carry On My Wayward Sons!

Brats and Cheese Curds

Brats and Cheese Curds

With this week having National Cheese Curd day in it I was wondering a few things.  First…National?  Do they celebrate cheese curds in other states like we do in Wisconsin?  Also, it seems another Wisconsin tradition, the bratwurst is expanding.  You hear more and more mention of those delicious tube steaks cropping up all over…read more »
